Becky Lynch On Changing The Perception Of Women’s Wrestling, One Day Main Eventing

Becky Lynch has become one of the most loved wrestlers in the entire WWE. She has made many fans during her year in the company so far. In a recent Q and A with XOBenzo, Becky answered a wide variety of questions from professional wrestling to her personal life. Here were some of the highlights:

Becky Lynch on changing the perception of Women’s wrestling and her goal of one day being in the main event of WrestleMania:

“Many people felt as though the women’s match was just a ‘break match’; time to get a snack. Now we have completely changed that perception; I feel we have set the bar so high that a women’s match is a ‘can’t miss’. So the pressure is on us to keep the standard high; people expect us women to steal the show and we have to live up to that. The next stop is to one day headline WrestleMania” (Source: XOBenzo).

I think Becky and her fellow female stars like WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte and fan favorite Sasha Banks have done a great job helping change the perception of Women’s wrestling in the WWE. It seemed crazy that women would main event a WWE PPV a couple years ago, but now it is looking like a possibility down the road! Can’t wait to see what is in store for the WWE women as they continue to evolve and prove people wrong!

As a bonus, she also talked about the bond of the current WWE locker room, males and females:

“ I think it the best locker room ever; there is not a single person I do not get along with; and I believe that shows in our performances because of the chemistry and the familial atmosphere” (Source: XOBenzo).
