Braun Strowman was the victim of a vicious assault on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, and Baron Corbin attacked Strowman after their 6-man tag team match. The trio targeted Strowman’s arm, leaving him telling referees that he couldn’t feel his fingers.
Later in the show, it was revealed by Michael Cole that Braun had suffered from what WWE was calling a “shattered elbow” from the attack.
It turns out that Braun is actually dealing with a legitimate injury.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here). Braun is going to legitimately have elbow surgery.
Strowman has apparently been dealing with bone spurs in his elbow for a while now. The beat down that Strowman took on Monday was a way for WWE to write him off RAW and live events so that he can get the issue fixed.
Meltzer says that it is unclear if Strowman will be back in time for TLC and his match against Baron Corbin. This will depend on how his recovery goes. The belief is that Braun will be fine for his match against Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble.
It is worth noting that Braun dealt with an elbow injury last year as well.
We will keep you updated when we hear anything more on his recovery. Looks like we won’t be seeing him for a few weeks though.
On a related note, here are some more details on a record that Braun Strowman tied at Survivor Series.
