The Backlash PPV takes place this Sunday night. Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline has provided some backstage notes about the match between Randy Orton and Edge at the event.
According to Meltzer, WWE has already taped “The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever” between Randy Orton and Edge. That means it won’t be live on Sunday night.
The report says that the rest of the matches at Backlash will be happening live. Orton vs Edge was the only one that WWE taped in advance.
Meltzer says that he was told the match between Edge and Orton was “really, really good”. Here is an excerpt from F4Wonline:
Meltzer said he was told the match was “really, really good” and that it was “two very smart workers working very hard to have the smartest match they possibly could under the circumstances.”
Meltzer surmised the match was taped so post-match editing could help it try to achieve the lofty goal of the marketing tagline for the match.
