Backstage News On Triple H’s Power In WWE Moving Forward

Vince McMahon announced the news of the XFL’s return a few weeks ago. During the press conference, he made it clear that his day-to-day role with WWE won’t be affected by this.

A new report from Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), sheds some light on this topic.

Meltzer says that the feeling backstage is that Triple H is going to gain a lot more control of WWE as we get closer to the launch of the XFL in 2020.  This is due to the realistic demands of running both a professional wrestling company and a football league.

Meltzer says that Triple H has already began to assemble his team in NXT. This includes the recent hiring of former Impact employee: Jeremy Borash. Also, there are people who have been talked to with the idea of filling key positions when Triple H is in charge.

Triple H gaining more power is already starting to happen. News broke on Wednesday that there were some major changes coming to 205 Live. Vince has stepped away and Triple H will be assuming control of the show moving forward.

We will know more when we get closer to the XFL’s return in 2020. Regardless of what Vince says publicly, there are only 24 hours in the day and his attention will likely be split.
