Brock Lesnar returned to WWE Television at the Hell in a Cell PPV event. Lesnar interfered during the Hell in a Cell match between Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship. Lesnar attacked both guys, ending the match in a no-contest. The big question now that Hell in a Cell is finished is what is next for Brock?
Dave Meltzer provided an update on Brock’s WWE status on Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here).
According to Meltzer, Brock Lesnar is currently scheduled to wrestle at WWE’s upcoming event in Saudi Arabia. For those unaware, there are some reports that suggest WWE will be hosting another event in the country in early November. Shawn Michaels is also rumored to be wrestling at the event. The Saudi show has not yet been officially announced by WWE.
Meltzer says that the finish with Brock interfering was not something that was thrown together at the last-minute. Brock appearing to cause a no-contest was always the plan here.
Lesnar is still scheduled to fight Daniel Cormier early next year for the UFC Heavyweight Championship. There is just so much money involved in the Saudi Arabia show that it would be hard to pass up for Brock.
One would have to assume that if Brock does wrestle at the Saudi Arabia event, it would be a triple threat match for the Universal Championship: Brock vs Roman vs Braun. WWE certainly set that match into motion with the finish at Hell in a Cell.
