According to a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, WWE will be moving forwards with TV tapings today and tomorrow. This comes after multiple people in WWE have tested positive for COVID-19.
Johnson says that the number of positive tests in WWE has risen since yesterday and there is concern among every level of employee in the company.
Here is what Johnson wrote:
WWE is, as of this morning, slated to move forward with taping TV today for tonight’s Smackdown and this Monday’s episode of Raw. They will also tape tomorrow at the WWE Performance Center.
The tapings are taking place despite the company continuing to receive positive COVID-19 test results. We are told the number has risen since yesterday and there is concern about everyone at every level of the company who was at the PC.
One conversation among WWE wrestlers over the last few days is disbelief towards those in the locker room who have been out socially at bars and gatherings and posting on social media in the wake of everything that has gone on since the company began informing them of COVID-19 positives.
UPDATE #1: Johnson also says that half of tonight’s episode of Smackdown will be focused on the Undertaker, which will include a full airing of the ‘Boneyard Match’:
PWInsider.com has been told that around half of tonight’s Smackdown episode will be Undertaker-centric, including the Boneyard Match from Wrestlemania 36.
We are also told that the current plan for the episode features appearances from Matt Riddle and Jeff Hardy.
UPDATE #2: John Pollock of POST Wrestling says that the RAW taping for today has been canceled but it might be moved until Saturday:
Three different people have informed me that today’s Raw taping at the Performance Center has been canceled.
One person added that it has been postponed until tomorrow (Saturday).
Tonight’s SmackDown taping is currently in progress
