This week’s episode of Monday Night RAW featured a match between Ronda Rousey and Natalya. This was for the RAW Women’s Championship.
Ronda Rousey ended up winning the match via submission to retain her Title.
We have some backstage news to pass your way about the match. This comes via Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here).
According to Meltzer, Ronda vs Natalya was completely called in the ring. Natalya wrestled earlier in the night in the gauntlet match (this week’s show was taped in advance). As a result, there was no time to script the match.
Natalya and Ronda reportedly decided to call the match on the fly. This is pretty unusual for Ronda as reports suggest that most of her matches are well rehearsed in advance.
Natalya and Ronda were definitely comfortable with one another in the ring. Natalya helped train Ronda and they have spent countless hours working with one another behind-the-scenes.
