Jon Moxley’s recent appearance on Talk Is Jericho has gotten the wrestling world talking. This comes after he ripped into WWE for their creative process.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has reached out to several wrestlers and backstage WWE employees and shared some of their reactions to the podcast.
According to Sapp, all of the people in WWE that he spoke to echoed a similar sentiment to Moxley and also fear that they will end up in the same situation creatively.
One person told Sapp that the comments from Moxley broke their heart since it is similar to how they have felt. They add that they have felt to the point of “physical nausea” when they show up to television every week.
Another wrestler told Sapp that if things don’t improve, they will be leaving WWE when their contract expires. They note that they have already checked out mentally at this point.
The blame also doesn’t belong to any of the writers as they have a tough time answering to Vince McMahon. Here is an excerpt from Sapp:
The wrestler said that McMahon has built an infrastructure that makes him tough to gain access to, with writers and producers that fear for their jobs and subsequently don’t provide as much constructive criticism as they should.
Another wrestler said “He’s not lying” in response to Moxley’s interview.
