We have some news to pass your way about the Ronda Rousey vs Becky Lynch match at Wrestlemania 35.
This comes via Dave Meltzer on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here). Here are some key points:
— Meltzer says that he was told again recently that WWE is still planning to add Charlotte Flair to the match. According to him, the triple threat match is “pretty much a lock at this point”.
— WWE is going to be advertising both the RAW Women’s Championship and Universal Championship matches as the ‘main event’ of Wrestlemania 35. It is likely that Vince McMahon doesn’t make the final decision on which match goes on last until the week of the show.
— The original plan was for Becky Lynch to defeat Ronda Rousey in the match. It is unclear if this will change with Charlotte (likely) being added. Meltzer speculated that WWE could have Becky pin Charlotte, which would save Becky vs Ronda for a singles match after Wrestlemania. That is
My Take: I agree that Becky should pin Charlotte if she gets added to the match. Then, I would do Becky defeating Ronda in a singles match at one of the PPV events after Wrestlemania 35. I think that Becky pinning Ronda in a triple threat match would lessen the impact. It needs to happen in a singles match for it to mean something (in my opinion).
