Dean Ambrose injured his elbow on Monday Night RAW. This came during the 6-man tag team match that he was involved in. Ambrose was being looked at by a doctor backstage before his injured arm was attacked by Joe. It was announced that Dean was taken to a local medical facility to get checked out. Many fans have been wondering if this is real or only a storyline.
We have an injury update for you and it isn’t good news.
It turns out that it is a legitimate injury. Here is an excerpt from Dave Meltzer on F4WOnline:
“Dean Ambrose has a legitimate right elbow injury even though on television it appeared to be an angle.
We’re not sure of the severity of the injury but he came to television hurt and the show was rewritten to cover for it”
Mike Johnson of PWInsider also reports that Ambrose is having his elbow issue dealt with, which likely means surgery:
“PWInsider.com has been told by WWE sources that Ambrose has an elbow issue and that he will be traveling to Birmingham, Alabama tomorrow to have the issue diagnosed and dealt with.”
WWE released this statement about Dean on their website:

“Dean Ambrose sustained an injury to his right arm during Raw’s Six-Man Tag Team Match, and the damage was exacerbated when his opponents, Samoa Joe and Raw Tag Team Champions Cesaro & Sheamus, assaulted The Lunatic Fringe in the trainer’s room. The attack culminated when Joe slammed a road case onto Ambrose’s arm, leaving him writhing in pain.
Ambrose was taken to a nearby medical facility for X-rays and evaluation, and more details on his condition should be available tomorrow”
We will update you when we hear anything more but looks like we could be without Dean on television for the next few weeks as he gets it figured out.
