Backstage News On Goldberg’s WWE Contract And His Future Matches

Goldberg shocked the wrestling world at Survivor Series where he squashed Brock Lesnar in just over a minute. The next night on RAW, Goldberg announced that after talking to Stephanie McMahon, he would be entering the 2017 Royal Rumble match in San Antonia, Texas.

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe at F4WOnline.com), Goldberg has an interesting contract with WWE. He reportedly has a big money deal, where Goldberg is willing to wrestle as long as the company meets his price. This means that as long as WWE wants to use him, he is available.

This keeps his deal open-ended and at an appearance by appearance basis. This allows flexibility for both sides in case their plans change or something happens to him.

As many fans have speculated, the plan right now is likely for Goldberg to be eliminated in the Royal Rumble match by a returning Brock Lesnar. This would set up a Wrestlemania 33 clash between the two. This scenario happened back in 2004, setting up their match at Wrestlemania XX.

We mentioned prior that the reason Brock Lesnar agreed to lose like he did at Survivor Series was because he saw money in a long-term feud with Goldberg. Losing in the fashion he did at Survivor Series has many fans wanting to see a rematch.
