The Average WWE Salary Revealed + Top 10 WWE Earners From 2015

We constantly get asked how much money WWE stars make. WWE stars work over 300 days a year and put their bodies on the line to entertain us each week. Not to mention the constant travel and time away from their families. While we don’t know many specifics, a new report has came out that sheds a bit more light on the topic about the average WWE salary. The topic of WWE salaries has come into question this week after Ryback’s lengthy post saying that all WWE stars should be paid similar.

According to a report from WrestlingInc, the average WWE wrestlers makes about $500,000 a year as a base salary. This does NOT include bonuses from merchandise sales or from PPV’s. It should be noted that WWE stars are typically on the hook for their own travel and hotel room costs (unless it is in your contract otherwise).

We also reported a few months ago about the top 10 earners of the WWE for 2015 (you can check the article here).

  1. John Cena:$9.5 million
  2. Brock Lesnar: $6 million
  3. Triple H: $2.8 million
  4. Randy Orton: $2.7 million
  5. Seth Rollins: $2.4 million
  6. Roman Reigns: $2.1 million
  7. Undertaker: $2 million
  8. Big Show: $1.5 million
  9. Kane: $1.3 million
  10. Dean Ambrose: $1.1 million

Ryback thinks that all wrestlers should be paid the same because the WWE determines who wins matches. He doesn’t think it is right that a guy who agrees to ‘job’ (lose in wrestling terms) and does everything he is asked, should earn less than the top guys, since they are doing the same amount of work. It is more complex than that though and you can read his full argument here.
