Andrade faced off against Humberto Carrillo on RAW this week for the United States Title. The match ended via disqualification and Carrillo hit Andrade with a Hammerlock DDT onto the exposed concrete.
Andrade has now been suspended by WWE.
The news was first reported by Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet. He says that Andrade has been suspended by WWE for violating the company wellness policy. Here is what Satin wrote:
Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned United States Champion Andrade has been suspended by WWE for violating the company’s Wellness Policy.
Sources tell us Andrade – real name Manuel Oropeza – was told of the suspension this morning. It’s unclear what substance he tested positive for at this time.
In an effort to write him off television for the next thirty days, the 30-year-old wrestler was disqualified from his match on Raw tonight due to interference from Zelina Vega. His opponent Humberto Carrillo then took him outside of the ring in a rage and hit the Hammerlock DDT on Andrade on the concrete.
UPDATE: WWE has released a statement on the suspension:
Andrade suspended under the rules of WWE Wellness Policy
STAMFORD, Conn. — WWE has suspended Andrade (Manuel Oropeza) for 30 days effective immediately for a first violation of the company’s talent wellness policy.
