You have likely seen some of the photos floating around the web of AJ Styles wearing a mask. These were taken at WWE’s recent live event in Osaka, Japan where AJ wrestled Kevin Owens. AJ didn’t wear the mask during the match, only for his entrance.
We have some more details about the mask for those that are curious. This includes a cool tidbit about Wrestlemania 33.
AJ wore a mask for his Wrestle Kingdom 10 entrance, prior to his match against Shinsuke Nakamura. It wasn’t the same mask though, as it looked more like the ones that the Shield used to wear. This new one is clearly inspired by the Club (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) as it matches the design they have on their T-Shirts.
Also, James Mckenna of Pro Wrestling Sheet shared a tidbit about AJ’s mask. Apparently AJ wanted to wear it for his Wrestlemania 33 entrance but was denied his request:
fun fact regarding this mask : AJ’s had that for a minute. wanted it for this past wrestlemania and got denied. glad it’s being put to use. https://t.co/a4kicS59JP

AJ explained that he was showing the Club some love:
Speaking of AJ Styles, here is what we think will happen to him and several other stars at Wrestlemania 34.
If Styles vs Nakamura happens at Wrestlemania 34, it would be pretty cool if he wore the mask as a part of his entrance.
