AJ Styles won the WWE Championship from Jinder Mahal back in November of 2017. Styles has held onto the belt for the past several months. This has included Title defenses against Shinsuke Nakamura, Rusev and more.
It turns out that Styles has also broken a WWE record.
With over 281 days holding the WWE Championship, AJ is now the longest reigning WWE Champion in SmackDown’s history. JBL took to Twitter to comment on Styles breaking his record:
