AJ Styles became the WWE Champion at Backlash after defeating Dean Ambrose. Styles used a low-blow to stun Ambrose, before hitting him with the ‘Styles Clash’ for the win. Styles was interviewed backstage after the match and was asked about the ‘controversial’ way that he won the title.
Styles says that he did what he had to do to win the belt. He is a winner and that is what winners do. He is the champion and is now in the history books so it doesn’t matter how he won.
