As noted prior, WWE released eighteen Superstars on Thursday. This included names like Karrion Kross, Nia Jax, Keith Lee, Ember Moon, Eva Marie, Oney Lorcan, and more.
According to Andrew Zarian on Twitter, four of the Superstars were potentially released due to them not being vaccinated. Here is what Zarian Tweeted:
Spoke to a source regarding the WWE roster cuts.
It’s believed that possibly 4 individuals were released due to not being vaccinated.
Sean Ross Sapp on Twitter also added the following:
There were rumors within the industry last week that WWE would be cutting some talent in relation to vaccination status. That doesn’t appear to be the case across the board, although it was cited as a reason for several of them
It is also worth noting that budget cuts were cited by John Laurinaitis as a reason for the releases. Here is what Sean Ross Sapp Tweeted earlier on in the day:
