Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) Some Released Superstars Were Lied To By WWE
The big story this week was WWE releasing multiple Superstars. This included names like Samoa Joe, Chelsea Green, Peyton Royce, Billie Kay, and more.
According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here), there were some Superstars told by WWE management that they were not on the chopping block. This turned out to be a lie and they were cut by WWE:
Multiple people among the cuts had inquired about whether or not they were on the chopping block and were told they weren’t going to be among them, only to be cut.
My Take:
- That would be rough. Being told you are safe and then having the rug pulled under you would be horrible.
4) Backstage Note On Samoa Joe
Sapp also provided an additional note on Samoa Joe, who was the biggest name that was released by WWE.
Sapp says that Joe had expressed his desire to wrestle to WWE but he was still not cleared by their doctors:
Samoa Joe had expressed his desire to wrestle of late, but was not cleared by WWE.
My Take:
- I think this is a case of Joe asking for his release (instead of the company wanting him gone). WWE won’t clear him, so he wants to go elsewhere. We will have to wait and see but that makes sense in my mind.
