Rumor Roundup: The 2nd Main Event Of WM 37, ‘Thigh Slapping’ Ban In WWE, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) New WWE Names

According to Heel By Nature, WWE has recently filed a trademark for “Franky Monet”. The company has also recently filed a trademark for “Symbiosis”.

It looks like these could be names of some new WWE Superstars who are in developmental.

My Take:

  • I am interested to see who ends up with these names. Symbiosis is definitely a unique one.

4) More On The ‘Thigh Slapping’ Ban In WWE

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, WWE has put up a sign in their backstage area that says “NO THIGH SLAPPING.” This comes after news that Superstars will be fined for slapping their thighs during matches to make a sound (during strikes).

Here is what Sapp wrote:

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that wrestlers were getting fined or punished for “thigh slapping” their strikes, and that a memo was sent to NXT talent to advise against it. Fightful can’t confirm the fines, but last week, we were told that a sign was up at WWE events with big, bold letters that said “NO THIGH SLAPPING.” The memo was sent out to talent in February.

My Take:

  • I do agree that an obvious thigh slap can look bad during a match. I am interested to see if we notice any big differences in matches in the upcoming weeks.
