Rumor Roundup: Rumor Roundup: WWE Planning New Belt, Name Of The Next Takeover Event, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) New WWE Rule

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is a new rule in WWE about signing talent. The company is now trying to limit the number of people who they sign that are over the age of 30.

Here is what Meltzer wrote:

The WWE is very aware of the aging aspect of the roster and developmental. We were told there has been a new doctrine when it comes to new signings that unless it is a special situation where somebody is really good or has potential, or if they have a name from elsewhere, they want to limit new developmental signings to those under the age of 30. This comes after signings of late 30s people like Taya Valkyrie and the former Eli Drake, who both would fit into the category of people with names in the business

My Take:

  • I guess it makes sense but a lot of wrestlers don’t find their stride until their 30’s, so they might miss out on some great talent. I guess that we will have to wait and see.

4) Name Of The Next NXT Takeover Event

According to Heel By Nature, WWE recently filed for the following trademark: “NXT Takeover Stand and Deliver”.

This seems to be a hint at the name of the next Takeover event on Wrestlemania 37 weekend. As noted prior, WWE is considering doing a two-night event on the Wednesday and Thursday prior to Wrestlemania 37.

My Take:

  • I always get excited for Takeover events. A two-night event would be even better.
