Rumor Roundup: Backstage WWE Reaction To Bad Bunny, Scrapped Elimination Chamber Plans, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Scrapped Elimination Chamber Plans

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE was originally planning a battle royal for the kickoff show at the Elimination Chamber PPV. These plans were scrapped and they went with a fatal 4-way match instead.

Here is what Meltzer wrote:

There was talk of a Battle Royal in the pre-show to determine the third man, but it ended up being a four-way where Morrison beat Mustafa Ali, Ricochet and Elias to become the third man, and the person who lost the fall to Riddle, in the U.S. title match.

My Take:

  • I think that the fatal 4-way match was fine. A battle royal would have been a way to get more people on the card but I think it worked out for the best.

4) WWE Signs Second Generation Wrestler

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has signed Jennifer Cantu.

Not only is Cantu a Mexican Olympic powerlifter, but she is also the daughter of Bronco, who is a Mexican wrestler.

My Take:

  • She sounds impressive. Looking forward to seeing what she can do.
