Rumor Roundup: Backstage News On Steve Cutler’s Release, Karrion Kross’ Future, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Karrion Kross’ Future

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is planning to fast-track Karrion Kross to the WWE main roster.

Here is what Meltzer said about Kross (via Ringside News):

“Karrion Kross is being groomed for the main roster. Roderick Strong, who can work rings around Karrion Kross, might never be on the main roster. It’s just how it is. They can’t wait to get Karrion Kross on the main roster. He has to get through whatever he’s getting through [in NXT] to get him there, but he’s on the fast track for that.”

My Take:

  • I would be interested to see Kross on the WWE main roster. I feel like his pairing with Scarlett Bordeaux would be a solid fit for either RAW or Smackdown.

4) Who Replaced Mia Yim In The Royal Rumble

On Fightful Select (subscribe here), Sean Ross Sapp spoke about Mia Yim being replaced in the Women’s Royal Rumble match.

Sapp says that Toni Storm was a late addition to the match and took Yim’s place:

Toni Storm actually wasn’t originally planned for the Rumble match, and ended up serving as an alternate when Yim couldn’t make it.

My Take:

  • This is interesting because I assumed that someone like Santana Garrett was the late replacement. This means that Garrett was always planned to be in the match, which is a great sign for her future.
