Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) Update On New WWE Contracts
According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here), WWE offered several new contracts to Superstars in the middle-to-end of 2020. This led to many Superstars declining the offers, which were viewed as “disappointing” compared to the big deals that were handed out last year.
Many wrestlers are waiting until things get back to being “more normal” before signing new deals. Here is what Sapp wrote:
They’re opting to wait until things get “more normal” to improve their situation. WWE has been said to be open to this, as well. We’ve heard of names across each brand that this applies to.
My Take:
- I get why WWE is offering lower contracts as we are in the middle of a pandemic. While saying that, the company is still bringing in a lot of money, so I don’t blame Superstars for waiting to get the best value for themselves.
4) WWE No Longer In “Talent Hoarding” Mode
On Fightful Select, Sean Ross Sapp also noted that WWE is no longer in “talent hoarding” mode. This is why they are offering lower contracts to Superstars.
Here is what he wrote:
Since the pandemic started, many within WWE have told us the company is out of “talent hoarding” mode. As a result, many of the contract offers were well below what was offered last year.
My Take:
- I am glad to hear that they aren’t just signing a bunch of talent to keep them away from the competition. They already have a stacked roster and need to use the talent that they have.
