Reid Flair (real last name: Fliehr) passed away at the of age 25 due to an accidental heroine overdose 3 years ago today. Reid was the son of Ric Flair and the younger brother to the current WWE Divas Champion Charlotte. Charlotte took to her social media to post a heartfelt tribute to her late brother which will likely tug at your heart strings.
Here is her heartfelt post:
Here is the caption:
“Three years ago today I lost my best friend. My little brother Reid. We were both on the way to WrestleMania29 in NY/NJ and he was going to get to see me wrestle for the first time. He never got a chance to. Time is suppose to make things easier but it doesn’t. I’m less than a week away from wrestling at my first WrestleMania as Divas Champion and would have never chosen this path or dream if it hadn’t been for my little brother. He loved professional wrestling and more importantly wanted to be just like my Dad. He wrestled on the independents and before passing was working in Japan. Almost four years ago at WrestleMania28 in Miami when the Four Horsemen were inducted. Reid looked at me and said you HAVE to do this. Go to FCW in Tampa. We can wrestle together and you “will be great”. We argued and argued. I finally said ok I will give it a go but by no means did I feel like a Diva or think in a million years I would be where I am today. My little brother believed in me and if it wasn’t for him I am telling you I would not be here today. I know he will have the best seat in the stadium come Sunday.
I love Champ. Thank you for pushing me, encouraging me and sharing YOUR dream with me.
I miss you everyday”
Wishing Charlotte and the Flair clan strength on a situation that likely never gets any easier.
