Rumor Roundup: Backstage Response To RAW’s Record Low Ratings, Underutilized Superstars, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) The Original Plan For Keith Lee On RAW This Week

According to Mike Johnson of PWinsider, Keith Lee was originally supposed to face The Miz in a singles match on RAW this week. These plans ended up changing and Lee faced The Miz and John Morrison in a handicap match instead.

Here is what Johnson wrote:

One major change that happened over the course of the day was originally Keith Lee vs. The Miz was penciled in as a singles match but that changed to a handicap match over the course of Monday. Lee was not slated to go over before the change, either.

My Take:

  • I think the handicap match loss decently protected Lee. I can only imagine the fan outrage if Lee would have lost to The Miz in a singles match.

4) Which Superstars The WWE Writers Think Are Underutilized

According to @Wrestlevotes, WWE management recently asked the writing team to compile a list of wrestlers who they feel are being underutilized.

Some of the names mentioned included Cesaro, Angel Garza, Chad Gable, Carmella, and Peyton Royce:

My Take:

  • I agree with that entire list except for probably Carmella. She seems like someone who consistently receives television time, so I don’t know if I would go with underutilized to describe her. The rest I agree with.
