Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) WWE’s Plan For Retribution
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, WWE had previously discussed adding some NXT Superstars to RETRIBUTION.
As of right now, WWE isn’t planning on adding any new members to the group. Here is what Sapp wrote:
As of the end of October, there were no plans on adding another female member of Retribution. The word among talent is that Mercedes Martinez extended her desire to no longer be a part of the angle and was removed from the group before they all signed new contracts. There were briefly names tossed around from NXT as potentially joining the group before deciding to stick with things as they are for the time being.
My Take:
- I am fine with them not adding any new members as the group doesn’t look too promising at the moment. If their booking improves, it may be a better idea to include some talent from NXT. For right now though, I wouldn’t change anything.
4) Maryse Leaves The Door Open For A WWE Return
Maryse was recently interviewed by Sam Roberts. During this, she was asked if she has the itch to return to WWE.
Maryse left the door open for her to return to the company at some point. Here is what she said:
“Always. The thing about me is I will think, ‘I have kids. I have a family.’ But also when I start getting excited about something, that is something that my brain gets busy with and my husband is Mr. Money in the Bank. WrestleMania might be in Los Angeles. You start adding all these elements. Also, the fact that I love WWE. I love everything about it. It’s been my family for so long.
I don’t think I will not be in with them in some capacity. I always come back. Listen, I was back on SmackDown and I just had a baby five months postpartum and I had a match against Brie Bella on SmackDown. We were the main event. If you would have told me that when I was pregnant I would have started laughing. It’s really hard to say never. We will see.”
My Take:
- I don’t have a ton of interest in seeing Maryse back. Maybe a Royal Rumble match appearance or something small. That might just be me though.
