Rumor Roundup: Something Different Planned For The Royal Rumble, WWE Stars Unhappy With Survivor Series, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Some WWE Stars Are Unhappy With Survivor Series

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, there are some people in WWE who are unhappy with the company doing the RAW vs Smackdown theme at Survivor Series.

This is because there is a feeling that the theme gets in the way of any pre-existing storylines. Meltzer ended up using Randy Orton as an example, who won’t get to finish any of his current feuds before facing Roman Reigns at the event. Here is what he said:

“They are doing matches because traditionally, that’s what they do. Again, the Survivor Series men and women’s match that’s fine. Whoever it’s going to be, the Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton match, it’s like they are doing it to do it. Granted, Roman Reigns has no opponent, but Orton does and they aren’t doing it, and it’s not like Roman Reigns is on the show this week doing something with Orton. I mean, Orton’s program is with McIntyre and the subtle thing with The Fiend, well maybe not even that subtle, and it has nothing to do with the pay-per-view because they’re locked into this traditional thing. I know a lot of people are, what’s the word I’m looking for, I know people who are not in agreement on that, in the sense of why do we have to do Bobby Lashley against Sami Zayn when nobody wants to see it, just because last year we did it this way.”

My Take:

  • I do feel like the brand supremacy thing is weak. There needs to be some sort of prize on the line to make fans care about the battle between RAW and Smackdown.

4) How WWE Views Bray Wyatt & Alexa Bliss

According to a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, WWE views Alexa Bliss and Bray Wyatt as babyfaces.

Here is what Johnson wrote:

With the addition of Bliss at Wyatt’s side, playing roles similar to DC Comics’ The Joker and Harley Quinn, the question as to where they stand came up again overnight. Internally, they are considered babyfaces by the company.

My Take:

  • They don’t feel like babyfaces to me. So far, they seem more like Tweeners. I guess we will have to wait and see.
