Here are some mistakes that I think WWE should avoid making at Extreme Rules.
5) Bray Wyatt Loses The ‘Swamp Fight’
One of the biggest matches at Extreme Rules will be the ‘Wyatt Swamp Fight’ between Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt. This will be a cinematic match and the Universal Championship will NOT be on the line. I think that it would be a mistake for Braun to beat Bray in this match.
The first reason why it would be a mistake is that it would give Braun two straight wins over Bray (since Braun won at Money in the Bank). I want this feud to continue into Summerslam, so Bray winning would help set that up. Since this is a cinematic match, WWE will be able to protect Braun in the loss.
I also think that it would be cool for Bray to be the guy who dominates these cinematic matches. He won the ‘Firefly Funhouse Match’ and I think that he should also win the ‘Wyatt Swamp Fight’. That could be something for the future where they become his signature match.
4) WWE Gets Too Corny With The ‘Eye For An Eye’ Match
WWE has confirmed that Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio will be facing off in an ‘Eye For An Eye Match’. WWE’s website has confirmed that the only way to win is to “extract your opponents eye”. I think that it would be a mistake for WWE to get too corny with this match.
What I mean by corny is them doing something like an obvious fake eye getting ripped out with fake blood splattering everywhere. I just feel like this will look stupid and will take away from what will likely be a really good match.
This is a tricky stipulation to book but I hope that they don’t get too corny with it. Mysterio vs Rollins is a match that I am excited for but the stipulation has me pessimistic.
