Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) Former WWE Superstar Returning?
According to Ringside News, there are rumors that Erick Rowan could be returning to WWE.
This comes after Rowan’s mask was shown on Smackdown. Bray Wyatt also recently Tweeted a photo that included Rowan, which increased speculation. Here is what the site wrote:
WWE used footage of three Wyatt Family members without Harper when they flashed images of the old faction during Friday Night SmackDown. Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Rowan’s sheep mask was also shown.
There are rumors that WWE could bring Erick Redbeard back to the company, if only for one shot. Extreme Rules is on July 19th which is days following the expiration of recently released Superstars’ 90 day non-complete clauses.
My Take:
- I could see Rowan being brought back for the rumored cinematic match at Extreme Rules between Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt. It would make sense for a Wyatt Family portion of the match and they can’t use Luke Harper (since he is with AEW).
4) The Original Plans For Liv Morgan
According to Gary Cassidy of Sportskeeda, Paul Heyman was planning a big babyface run for Liv Morgan on RAW. The original plan was to use Lana’s heat to further establish Liv as a babyface.
With Heyman gone from RAW, it looks like those plans have been scrapped. Here is what Cassidy Tweeted [this has been edited but only to remove the hashtags to make it easier to read]:
I believe part, if not most of this might be common knowledge – but I was told a few weeks ago about the story of how Liv Morgan’s WWE run was actually meant to play out, and of the uncertainty that jeopardised it…
I was told how Liv was on SmackDown and – much like Andrade, Zelina, Aleister Black, AOP, Murphy, Humberto Carillo and Apollo Crews – couldn’t get on TV, so Liv apparently asked Vince if she could switch to RAW, and Vince said yes.
While Liv moved to RAW, none of Paul Heyman’s pitches for how to debut Liv would be approved by Vince – until the idea of the wedding debut was pitched. Although apparently Heyman never wanted to follow up with a “lesbian” storyline…
Apparently Heyman simply wanted to debut Liv and build to the obvious Mixed Tag Team Match of Liv & Rusev vs Lashley and Lana, then Liv vs Lana to establish Liv as a babyface as she could bump Lana around and capitalise on Lana’s heat.
Obviously a lot of things happened before the final stages of that plan could happen – not least contractually.
The plan had apparently always been to kickstart a babyface run for Liv on RAW via that storyline, but it obviously didn’t play out as intended.
My Take:
- I like Liv and would like to see her pushed as a babyface on RAW. She has improved over the past few years and I think that they should give her a chance.
