Edge faced off against Randy Orton at WWE Backlash in what was billed as “the greatest wrestling match ever”. This turned out to be a really good match, with Orton coming out on top. Before the Backlash PPV, a report came out that Edge suffered a triceps injury during this match (which was taped in advance last week).
We have some more details to pass your way about Edge’s injury.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Edge was actually injured while filming re-takes for the match. Here is what he said:
“There was multiple stuff that they filmed multiple times. He got hurt during the second tapings. I was told the injury happened during the second taping when they were going through other stuff.”
It also appears to be an injury to his right triceps. Here is a close-up photo, where you can see the bruising under his elbow pad:
Torn triceps can take anywhere from 4 to 8 months of recovery, depending on how bad the damage is. We will let you know when we hear anything more.
