Rumor Roundup: Why WWE Is Using The “Greatest Wrestling Match Ever” Tagline, Original Plans For Charlotte, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) The Original Plans For Charlotte Flair In NXT

According to journalist Tom Colohue, WWE had originally planned for Charlotte Flair to feud with most of the women in NXT.

Those plans changed after the news that Becky Lynch was pregnant and will be gone from WWE television for the next several months:

In regards to plans changing, this is definitely influenced by Becky Lynch not being available. The original plan for Charlotte was to feud with almost all the women on NXT, at least briefly. And they were building up a few people towards taking the title.

My Take:

  • I definitely would have liked to see Charlotte face names like Tegan Nox, Candice LeRae, and more. Hopefully we still can see those matches over the next several months.

4) More On Triple H’s Recent Backstage Meeting With NXT Talent

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has provided some more details about the backstage meeting that Triple H had with NXT talent. This meeting came before NXT Takeover: In Your House.

Here is what Sapp wrote about what happened:

Fortunately, multiple people at the NXT post-show talent meeting were willing to “snitch to the dirt sheets” and gave us some supplemental information. While Triple H did note that he was willing to have conversations with talent, we’re told that he mentioned that this is an important time in the world, and he was proud of his talent for standing up. Triple H was said to have been emotional, and said that he wants everyone to matter in WWE and NXT, regardless of race, religion, orientation, language, and culture and wants their talent to set an example for the rest of the world.

My Take:

  • Triple H sounds like a really good leader.
