Rumor Roundup: WWE Forced To Scrap Plans For Drew McIntyre, The Plans For Bray Wyatt, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Mixed Reports On Adam Cole’s Future

Over the past week or so, there have been some rumors that Adam Cole’s contract with WWE will be expiring in a few months. This has led to rumors that Cole could be considering a jump to AEW to join his girlfriend, Britt Baker.

According to a report from Rajah, those rumors are false. The site also claims that Cole has already re-signed with WWE:

“In an update to a recent headline that indicated that Adam Cole’s contract is set to expire this summer and that he hasn’t come to any agreement with WWE on a new deal with the possibility that he might jump to AEW, this report is actually false. I heard from multiple sources that Cole actually signed a three-year contract with WWE sometime last year.”

UPDATE: Mike Johnson of PWinsider is also reporting that Cole has 18 months left on his current contract.

MY Take:

  • I definitely don’t think that Cole is leaving. He has been booked very well since coming to NXT and I also don’t see him walking away from The Undisputed Era.

4) The Plans For Bray Wyatt

According to a report from Ringside News, Bray Wyatt is expected to return to Smackdown very soon.

Bray (as The Fiend) is expected to face Braun Strowman prior to Summerslam:

Ringside News has now learned that it is WWE’s plan to run the Fiend vs Braun Strowman match prior to SummerSlam.

Since Monster vs Fiend seems like a pay-per-view match-up, Extreme Rules is the only option between Backlash and the biggest party of the summer.

My Take:

  • This would make sense as Braun vs John Morrison and The Miz seems like a filler feud.
