We have some news to pass your way about a Superstar that is being called up from NXT to the WWE main roster. This will be a spoiler for an upcoming episode of Smackdown, so make sure that you are aware before reading any further.
According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline, Matt Riddle is scheduled to move up to the WWE main roster. Riddle’s call-up is said to be “imminent”. Here is what Meltzer wrote:
Matt Riddle’s main roster debut right now is scheduled to be imminent, so his cage match with Timothy Thatcher could either be his blow-off or lead to it.
Update #1: Mike Johnson of PWInsider says that Riddle will be going to Smackdown:
Former WWE NXT Tag Team Champion Matt Riddle will soon be debuting for WWE’s Smackdown brand, PWInsider.com has confirmed with multiple sources. There have been plans to move Riddle to the blue brand since before Wrestlemania 36 but they had been on pause coming out of that PPV. Talk of the plans finally going into effect started making the rounds several weeks ago.
Update #2: To further fuel these rumors, Matt Riddle has been removed from the NXT banner on WWE’s website.
Update #3: According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Riddle will be introduced on Smackdown with a vignette. Riddle reportedly filmed one earlier this week.
How do you think that Riddle will do on the main roster? Let me know in the comment section below.
