Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) More On WWE’s New Crossover Rule
On RAW this week, WWE introduced a crossover rule that will allow some Superstars to appear on different brands. The first example of this was when WWE announced Drew McIntyre vs King Corbin for RAW next week.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider says that WWE’s new strategy is to “try and create dream matches.” As a result, the crossover rule helps them do that with fewer restrictions.
My Take:
- I think that most of us will agree that the ‘Wild Card Rule’ sucked. WWE went overboard and it got confusing as to who was on each show. I don’t mind WWE doing the odd brand vs brand match, especially during these times. I just hope that they don’t go overboard with it.
4) Drew McIntyre’s Next Challenger
Drew McIntyre defeated Seth Rollins at the Money in the Bank PPV. Based on RAW this week, it looks like Drew is now done feuding with Seth (for the time being at least).
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer speculated that Bobby Lashley will be Drew’s next challenger for the WWE Championship.
Lashley has been built up strongly over the past few weeks and it looks like MVP is now going to be his manager.
My Take:
- I agree with Meltzer here. This feud would make sense as Lashley is one of the top heels on the red brand. My guess is that they will face off at Backlash.
