Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) Canceled Plans For An Intercontinental Title Change
Lio Rush was recently interviewed by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select (subscribe here). Rush mentioned that during his run with WWE, there were originally some plans for him to win the Intercontinental Title.
This was during Rush’s partnership with Bobby Lashley. These plans didn’t end up coming to fruition:
Lio Rush claimed that at one point during his run with Bobby Lashley, he was set to become Intercontinental Champion. The switch was planned during the Finn Balor feud, but he couldn’t remember why it didn’t pan out.
My Take:
- I actually was enjoying the partnership between Lio Rush and Bobby Lashley. I wish they gave that more of a chance since Rush was great in the role.
4) Backstage Note On The Hacker Storyline
According to journalist Tom Colohue, the hacker storyline was an afterthought for WWE when it first began.
He says that WWE wasn’t even sure who the hacker was going to be when it first started:
When they first started this storyline, it was such an afterthought and I mean that creatively. Someone, one creative individual, came out and said, ‘look, I want to try this and they said, yes, sure, whatever.’ hey weren’t even sure when they started this storyline, who the hacker was going to be. They really weren’t.
My Take:
- The hacker stuff has been great and I think that WWE has done a great job with it. I am always a fan of mystery angles that WWE sometimes does.
