Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has provided some backstage details about the upcoming Money in the Bank PPV. This comes after it was announced this week that the ‘Climb the Corporate ladder’ matches will be taking place at WWE Headquarters in Stanford, Connecticut.
According to Sapp, the ladder matches have already been taped in advance. Superstars were flown in on Tuesday to tape the matches and the filming went from the early morning until around midnight. Filming was said to be “tedious” and it was noted to him that there was a lot of “hurry up and wait” for the next shot to be set up.
Sapp added the following about the filming:
Fightful was told that the matches were filmed in a more cinematic manner, but we don’t know if it will be more akin to the Boneyard Match, The Firefly Funhouse match, or the Tommaso Ciampa vs. Johnny Gargano match. Talent were also trying to stay warm during filming as they’d have to go from standing around to bumping on short notice.
It was also noted that there was a hiccup that happened during filming, which caused them to stop for a period of time. It is unclear what it was but the issue was eventually settled and they were able to finish filming.
We will let you know when we hear anything more. It will be interesting to see what the finished product looks like.
