Charlotte Flair defeated Rhea Ripley on night two of Wrestlemania 36. As a result, Charlotte became the new NXT Women’s Champion.
Many fans assumed that this was another example of WWE trying to give Charlotte as many Title reigns as possible. It appears as if there were some other big factors at play that led to Rhea dropping the belt.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Rhea’s work visa has expired and she is now back in Australia. She is currently trying to get her visa renewed but there is no timetable for her return due to everything that is going on in the world right now.
Rhea is not going to be appearing on NXT television over the next several weeks as she won’t be able to travel to the United States for the tapings. She will be unavailable to WWE until her visa gets sorted out.
It is very possible that this is what led to Charlotte winning the NXT Women’s title at Wrestlemania 36. Since Rhea won’t be on television for the next while, it seems like WWE made the decision to put the belt on Charlotte.
