Rumor Roundup: Why No Spoilers Leaked From Wrestlemania, What Vince Originally Considered, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) What Vince McMahon Was Originally Considering For Wrestlemania 36

According to a report from Sports Illustrated, Vince McMahon strongly considered still holding Wrestlemania 36 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay but without any fans in attendance.

Vince was ultimately forced to abandon the idea for reasons outside of his control. These reasons include pressure from the Florida government and the poor visual of the event taking place in an empty football stadium.

My Take:

  • I feel like an empty football stadium would have been a bad visual. At least at the Performance Center, WWE can hide some things to make it not look as empty.

4) What Vince McMahon Turned Down From FOX

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Vince McMahon turned down an offer from FOX earlier this year.

The Network wanted to air the kickoff show for Wrestlemania 36 but WWE turned them down:

The flooding the market with television programming is part of a new philosophy. Vince is of the opinion that WrestleMania will sell more PPVs this year based on more companies distributing the event. Earlier this year, FOX itself wanted the WrestleMania kickoff show and McMahon turned it down

My Take:

  • As a fan, I am happy that Wrestlemania is all on one channel and I don’t have to switch. Plus, some fans don’t even have cable and would have been forced to miss the kickoff show. I think that Vince made the right call.
