Rumor Roundup: Roman Reigns’ Future After Wrestlemania, How Superstars Will Be Paid, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around. Make sure to take rumors with a grain of salt as always.

5) The Original Plan For Murphy At Wrestlemania 36

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Murphy was originally supposed to be in Seth Rollins’ corner at Wrestlemania 36 for his match against Kevin Owens.

These plans for Murphy have been changed due to illness and he has been pulled from all recent tapings.

My Take:

  • Not a major loss in the grand scheme of things since Murphy wasn’t supposed to wrestle anyway. We wish Murphy the best and hope that he gets better soon.

4) More On How Superstars Will Be Paid At Wrestlemania 36

According to journalist Tom Colohue, WWE stars will still be getting paid their downside guarantees for their matches at Wrestlemania 36. What they will be missing out on though is bonuses that usually come from ticket sales at Wrestlemania.

Here is what Colohue said:

“The expectation is from everything I’m hearing that everyone will still get paid what they were expecting to get paid anyway for the match. They get paid for the event, not necessarily based on the gate and so on, there are some bonuses but it really depends whose contract we’re talking about. Only the really big names get bonuses based on ticket sales and stuff like that.

“So they will still get the guaranteed downside, which is the amount of money they generally get as income before you factor this in, but then it’s less likely that they are going to reach an upper limit or anything like that because of this.

My Take:

  • I think this adds to the reports that only Vince McMahon wanted Wrestlemania 36 to continue. I am sure that a lot of Superstars were hoping for the event to be postponed so they could still get their bonuses.
