Rumor Roundup: Wrestlers Who Vince Won’t Do Business With, Idea Being Considered For Wrestlemania, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) What WWE Is Considering For Wrestlemania 36 & Future Shows

WWE recently sent out an e-mail to their fan council, noting that the company is considering new options for the way that they present their shows during the current Coronavirus pandemic.

All of WWE’s shows are currently running without a crowd in attendance at the WWE Performance Center. WWE is considering adding fan and Superstar reactions to try and take away from the empty arena. Here is what their recent e-mail says:

“WWE is considering new options for the way that they present show segments within this current environment. This might include seeing and hearing feedback from Superstars, celebrities, sports figures or fans during a show.”

My Take:

  • I really hope that they don’t try to pipe in crowd noise during the matches. I don’t know if we will be able to suspend our disbelief that much.

4) Why WWE Is Allowing ESPN To Air Old Wrestlemania Events

ESPN has been re-airing old Wrestlemanias as of late. Mike Johnson of PWInsider was asked why WWE would give away Wrestlemania events on another network.

Here is what Johnson said:

I can give you a few reasons.  One, they are getting paid for the content.  Two, it promotes this year’s Wrestlemania.  Three, it promotes the WWE Network.  Four, it allows them to build a relationship with ESPN, which is owned by Disney, a massive juggernaut in the world of entertainment.

My Take:

  • This makes a ton of sense. Hopefully, it hooks some of the older fans who stopped watching WWE a decade ago. There is nothing else to watch in terms of sports, so this is a good time to try and win back some fans.
