Rumor Roundup: WWE Star Switching Brands, Confusion Among WWE Employees, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Clearing Up The Rumors About Triple H Getting ‘Demoted’

Over the past few days, a rumor came out that suggested Triple H had been demoted in WWE. Triple H even joked on Smackdown about being demoted but still being busier than ever.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider has provided some more information on Triple H’s new responsibilities in WWE. Here is what he wrote:

There was a reference made by Triple H during Smackdown about him having been “demoted”, which is a story that popped up online stemming from Triple H receiving a new corporate title, Executive Vice President, Global Talent Strategy & Development. During Smackdown, Triple H commented that he was busier than ever, which we are told is 100% the case. We are told that Triple H had been charged with spearheading a WWE decree to develop and open new WWE Performance Centers (domestically and internationally) so that the company can expand the number of the talents they groom for the future. Triple H remains overseeing all things WWE NXT but his major focus is continuing to set up the future of the company.

As part of Triple H’s new job, Brad Blum, who answers directly to Vince McMahon as the company’s Chief of Staff, has taken on far more responsibilities of his own, with a number of departments, including Talent Relations and WWE Legal now answering directly to Blum, where before they answered to Triple H.

My Take:

  • I think that it makes sense to use Triple H at what he is best at. That seems to be developing talent, so I think it is smart for WWE to keep him focused on that and let somebody else focus on talent relations.

4) Confusion Among WWE Employees With The Coronavirus Situation

Fightful Select reports that there is a lot of confusion among WWE employees right now.

They gave an example that many employees were unsure where they were flying to for Smackdown this week:

Several members of the SmackDown crew were actively at the airport not having any clue if they were supposed to go to Detroit or Orlando. Many were told last night to expect or flat out that they were going to Orlando, before WWE denied it. Employees of the venue in Detroit didn’t find out until mid-afternoon Thursday.

My Take:

  • I hope that WWE becomes more forthcoming with their information for their employees. The situation is stressful enough as it is.
