Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) WWE No Longer Has A Back-Up Plan In Case Vince McMahon Dies
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer spoke about WWE firing George Barrios and Michelle Wilson from their roles as Co-Presidents of WWE.
Meltzer says that there is now no back-up plan in place for WWE as Barrios and Wilson were expected to take over WWE (in terms of the business side of things) if Vince McMahon dies.
“It’s gotta be something really serious for him to fire both people without notice with no succession plan and kinda killing the succession plan… because if something happened to Vince, you know everybody expected that Michelle Wilson and George Barrios would be the people to run the company. Now nobody knows who will run the company and that uncertainty is one of reasons the stock price dropped a lot.”
My Take:
- This is actually an interesting point because we know that Stephanie McMahon and Triple H would take over the creative control of WWE if Vince passed away. The business side is something that isn’t as clear though. That is why the firing of Wilson and Barrios came as such a shock to so many people.
4) Change Made To WWE Super Showdown
According to Heel By Nature, the WWE Super Showdown event in Saudi Arabia will be held in a much smaller venue than what we are used to.
Here is what the site wrote:
This year, WWE plans on hosting the PPV at a much smaller venue that last year’s event. According to HeelByNature.com Saudi Arabian correspondent Ghalayini, the event will be held at the Mohammed Abdu Theatre at the Boulevard in Riyadh.
The venue has a capacity of 22,000, which is three times smaller than the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, which held the 2019 WWE Super ShowDown.
My Take:
- It will be interesting to see how this looks on television. The best part of these Saudi Arabia shows is usually how cool the stadium design looks. We will have to wait and see if this is impacted.
