The 2020 Royal Rumble PPV will be taking place on January 20th. The event will be held at Minute Maid Park, which is the home stadium of the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball.
We have a potential spoiler to pass your way on a return at the Royal Rumble PPV.
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), Cain Velasquez is currently booked for the Royal Rumble PPV.
Cain’s last match came at a WWE live event a few weeks ago, where he and Humberto Carrillo defeated The O.C. Before that, he lost to Brock Lesnar at WWE Crown Jewel.
Meltzer doesn’t specify what role that Cain will be playing at the Rumble. All we know right now is that he is going to be a surprise at the event. Let the speculation begin.
My Take:
- The Royal Rumble match seems like a smart way to protect Cain. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see Cain face Brock again at the Rumble for the WWE Championship. Brock doesn’t have a feud right now and WWE could easily book a rematch between the two. I don’t know how much that fans would like it but I could see Brock vs Cain II happening.
