Shinsuke Nakamura doesn’t have a clear feud for his Intercontinental Championship at the TLC PPV. Here are 5 matches that I think could happen at the event.
5) Shinsuke Nakamura vs Kofi Kingston
On the most recent edition of Smackdown, The New Day defeated Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro to retain their Smackdown Tag Team Titles. With only a few weeks to go until TLC, I could see WWE potentially doing Nakamura vs Kofi Kingston at the TLC PPV for the Intercontinental Championship.
This would make some sense as no other feud is being teased for Nakamura right now. Cesaro was also the guy who took the pin from Kofi in that match, which means that they could be thinking about doing Nakamura vs Kofi. If it happens, I am sure that it would be a fun match.
The only issue is that it means there would be no Smackdown Tag Team Title match at TLC. I am not sure if WWE would keep those belts off the card. Still, I have to include this match based on what happened on Smackdown.
4) Shinsuke Nakamura vs Braun Strowman
Another option for Shinsuke Nakamura at the TLC PPV would be a match against Braun Strowman.
Strowman vs Nakamura was originally being advertised by WWE for some upcoming live events. This could be a hint that WWE is thinking about doing this feud on Smackdown.
Strowman is someone who has never won a singles title in WWE. Since it looks like he will be out of the Universal Title picture for the next few months, this could be an interesting route to go for him. Nakamura is also an elite striker and submission guy, so I think that he could put on a fun match with Strowman.
