Rey Mysterio won the United States Championship from AJ Styles on RAW. I have now put together a list of potential opponents for Mysterio at the upcoming TLC PPV.
5) Rey Mysterio vs AJ Styles
Let’s start with the most obvious option. WWE could have Rey Mysterio face off against AJ Styles at TLC in a rematch.
The match between Styles and Mysterio on RAW was really good. I would love to see them face off again on PPV, where there would be no commercial breaks. I think that they would give us an even better match.
This one is currently unclear though. That is because Styles looks to be starting a feud with Randy Orton. If it was up to me, I would do Mysterio vs Styles at TLC and have Orton cost Styles the match. Then, they can move on to the Orton and Styles feud afterward. I just don’t want to miss out on a PPV match between Styles and Mysterio.
With only a few weeks to go until TLC, this seems like a pretty solid option for WWE.
4) Rey Mysterio vs Andrade
Rey Mysterio and Andrade have a long history with one another. They have put on several great matches over the past year or so.
With both of these guys on RAW, it seems like another feud between them is inevitable. This time, with the United States Championship on the line. With only a few weeks to go before TLC, WWE could jump right back into the Andrade and Mysterio feud. The groundwork has already been laid in this feud, so all it would require is for Andrade to attack Mysterio on RAW to set it up.
If it was up to me though, I would save this feud for a few months from now. I would like to see Andrade win the United States Title and go on a lengthy reign as Champion. I also wouldn’t hate Rey vs Andrade at Wrestlemania 36 in a mask vs title match or something.
Rey vs Andrade seems like a better feud for a few months from now. Still, I could see WWE doing it as a quick match to build to for TLC.
