Eric Bischoff Explains Why AEW Bringing Back “Bash At The Beach” Could Be A Bad Choice

AEW recently announced that they will be bringing back the “Bash At The Beach” theme for an upcoming episode of “Dynamite”. As WCW fans know, this was a PPV event that the company used for several years.

Eric Bischoff spoke on After 83 Weeks with Christy Olson about AEW bringing it back. During this, he explained why he thinks that it could be a bad idea.

Here is what he said (h/t to Wrestling INC for the quote below):

“I have mixed emotions about (AEW bringing back Bash at the Beach). I kind of understand it, but I also think it’s a bad choice. AEW…needs to find their own vision. They need to become their own brand. They need to become their own entity. They need to find the way that they’re really going to become the alternative.

“The more often they go back and kind of try to recreate the success of WCW, and align themselves with WCW’s success, I think they’re missing the mark.”

Bischoff also said that it might end up working out for AEW. Still, he thinks that they should focus on innovating.
