Seth Rollins will be on Team RAW for the Men’s elimination match at Survivor Series. Since NXT is included this year, that will make it a 5-on-5-on-5 match (RAW vs Smackdown vs NXT). WWE has done a good job of building up the storyline for this match and it should be a lot of fun.
I wanted to share my speculation on what I think will happen with Seth at Survivor Series this year.
My gut says that Seth is going to turn on Team RAW, costing them the match. As a result, Rollins will officially turn heel at Survivor Series.
I think that this makes sense for a few reasons. The first is that I have always preferred Seth as a heel. He seems to do his best work as a bad guy and I think that many fans will agree with me. A large chunk of the crowd also appears to have turned on Rollins over the past few months. For a top babyface, he is receiving a mixed reaction and things don’t seem to be clicking. As a result, I would turn Seth and have him play into the fans turning on him.
The last reason is that it doesn’t make much sense to push Rollins as the top babyface on RAW anymore. With Brock Lesnar as the WWE Champion, I don’t think that we need another Rollins and Brock feud. If Rollins was still being pushed as the top babyface on RAW, we would likely get Brock vs Rollins at Wrestlemania 36. I enjoyed their previous matches but I don’t think that fans want to see another Wrestlemania match between them. As a result, WWE can push another star as the top babyface (and as Lesnar’s challenger), which frees up Rollins for the heel turn.
After he turns on RAW, I don’t know if Rollins will join NXT or anything like that. I just think that we could be seeing a heel turn from him. That would set up some fun matches on RAW over the next few months like Ricochet vs Rollins, Aleister Black vs Rollins, Kevin Owens vs Rollins, and more.
