It appears as if there are some travel issues happening right now for WWE after the Crown Jewel PPV in Saudi Arabia. The original plan was for Superstars to head right to Buffalo, where Smackdown will be taking place on Friday night.
It was first reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful that WWE was having some plane delays in Saudi Arabia. Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet has also provided some additional information.
According to Satin, there has been a delay that has lasted for hours, with WWE Superstars and employees stuck on a plane without taking off. Here is an excerpt from his report:
It’s unclear what the exact reason for the delay is at this time, but it seems to be an issue with the plane. We’re told WWE has been working on coming up with backup strategies that would hopefully get some of the talent to Buffalo to appear on SmackDown. This would seem to be difficult though due to the length of the flight.
In an update, Satin adds that a second flight is being put together with the top Superstars on Smackdown. This will hopefully get them to Buffalo in time for the episode.
We will let you know if we hear anything more.
