WWE has officially confirmed a battle royal for the Crown Jewel PPV. The winner will earn a WWE United States Championship match later on in the show. We have put together a list of some WWE stars who could win the battle royal and go on to face Styles later that night.
5) Akira Tozawa
Humberto Carrillo’s push on RAW came out of nowhere last week and I think that it now might be Akira Tozawa’s time to shine.
Tozawa was selected by RAW in the 2019 WWE Draft. It would make some sense for WWE to build him up and help main roster fans get better acquainted with him. Tozawa winning the battle royal could end up being great for him.
This would set up AJ Styles vs Akira Tozawa for later on in the show. This match would be a great showcase for what Tozawa can do in the ring. He doesn’t even have to win the belt to look good here. A great match against Styles could help put him on the map.
4) Cedric Alexander
I have to include Cedric Alexander on my list. He has recently feuded with AJ Styles and we only got to see one PPV match between them. Their match at Clash of Champions turned out to be a let down as it was relegated to the kickoff show. It was also less than 5 minutes long.
I think that fans would be down for another match between Cedric and Styles. This time, they would hopefully receive a bunch more time. If that happens, I am sure that they could put on a really great match. Something tells me that they both have more to give.
This would be a ‘safe’ pick by WWE. It is a feud and match that we have seen before. Still, it would save some of the bigger matches on this list for other PPV events in the future.
