On his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff spoke about his recent firing from WWE. For those who missed it, Bischoff was let go from his role as the Executive Director of Smackdown. Bruce Prichard has now taken over that role in his place.
On the podcast, Bischoff shot down rumors that he and Prichard are at odds with one another after what happened.
Here is what Bischoff said (h/t to Wrestling INC for the quotes below):
“First of all, I’ve stayed away from social media because I know the kind of digital diarrhea that exists there at a time like this. But this is the first that I am hearing about a narrative like that that is out there, and if it is, I think it is a perfect example that if there is anything out there that suggests that Bruce and I are anything but the best of friends and that I am fully supportive of him, I think that defines bulls–t. And as I said, digital diarrhea that the dirt sheets and the douche bags that write them to live off of because nothing can be further from the truth. As a matter of fact, and I know that you [Conrad Thompson] know this because when Loree [Bischoff] and I went to Bruce and Stephanie’s house last night for dinner as they were moving into their new house, and I think Bruce took a picture and sent it to you [Conrad Thompson] after dinner. But that is such nonsense. Bruce Prichard is probably the reason why I got the opportunity in the first place. I can tell you that Bruce had nothing to do with – this was the decision that Vince McMahon made based on whatever went through his mind. And I am 1,000% sure that anything Bruce Prichard said had nothing to do with that.
Bischoff continued:
“Bruce is one of my closest friends and is going to remain as one of my closest friends. Anybody that suggests otherwise should look at themselves in the mirror and ask themselves why they feel they have to do what they have to do as they spread these rumors that I am going to call straight-up, dirt sheet bulls–t. Because if you feel the need to have to do that kind of thing and affect other people’s lives when there is absolutely no basis and truth for it, you are kind of a f–ked up individual. I know I said that I didn’t want to get negative but that is the kind of thing [others do] and people wonder why I feel so strongly about the dirt sheets. And joking earlier and passively calling it ‘rumor and innuendo’? That rumor and innuendo has an impact on people’s lives. In this case, the fact that people are saying these things about Bruce doesn’t impact my life because it doesn’t change the way that I feel about Bruce.”
